We are committed to working with patients and members of the public to create an accessible and inclusive environment where health data research is shaped by the public and delivers outputs that meets their needs. As such, it is important that we are able to support patients and members of the public to join our events and actively get involved in the discussions and sessions.

For the ‘Health Data Research UK Scientific Conference 2022: Data for global health and society’, patients and members of the public can apply for a bursary to cover travel and/or accommodation costs that would have otherwise prevented them from attending the event in person.

How much will the bursary cover?

The bursary covers a maximum of £250 per person to attend the Conference on Wednesday 14 December 2022. Please note, those in receipt of a bursary may be subject to personal tax. This is the responsibility of the individual and not HDR UK.

Bursary places are limited to one individual per year and will be awarded at HDR UK’s discretion.

Who is eligible?

All patients and members of the public who are interested in joining the Health Data Research UK Scientific Conference 2022 who may otherwise not be attending in person due to travel and/or accommodation costs.

You do not need to have been previously involved in a HDR UK event to apply for the bursary – the bursary is open to all patients and members of the public who are interested in health data research.

Please note, this particular bursary is only open to patients and the public and those who are researchers, policymakers and other key stakeholders are not currently eligible.
