Cathie is a Professor of Neurology and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh and joined HDR UK in 2018 to lead our work in Scotland. In 2019, Cathie was appointed as the Director of the BHF Data Science Centre, a partnership between Health Data Research UK and the British Heart Foundation to promote the safe and ethical use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.
