Abdul is a Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast and has experience working on data-linkage research projects and in statistical methods for causal inference and mediation analysis. His doctorate focused on improving healthcare outcomes particularly in the elderly lung, breast and colorectal cancer patients, but he is currently engrossed in exploring health disparities by deprivation or socio-economic status. He is a member of the QUB HDR-Wales Northern Ireland research team focused on using large existing population administrative data, clinical registers and electronic health records to better define determinants and outcomes of respiratory health and wellbeing in the Northern Ireland population, addressing, initially, asthma and associated multi-morbidity.
