Before joining Buckinghamshire New University as a Senior Lecturer, Dorothy was a divisional nurse in Nottingham with responsibility for Nottingham Children’s Hospital, and then an associate director in specialised commissioning for the South of England.

In addition to her existing qualifications which include a BSc in Nursing and a Master’s in Education for Primary Health Care from the University of Manchester, and a PGCert in HE from Oxford Brookes, she is  currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Informatics.

Her specialist area of interest is the use of data and digital systems to support developments in care.

Dorothy is Trustee at Katherine House Hospice, Banbury, an Associate Member of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics, sitting on their Education and Standards Committee, and is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
