Dr Alex Doney a Senior Lecturer at the University of Dundee and Honorary NHS Consultant Physician with an interest in cerebrovascular disease and brain health. For a number of years he led the Acute Stroke programme at Ninewells Hospital. Prior to his Clinical training he trained in molecular genetics and genetic epidemiology which led to his research interest in linking genomics with biomedical informatics for clinically relevant Precision Medicine research. A principal research theme is the use of clinical images, particularly images of the retina and brain, for extracting latent clinical information through machine learning for use as imaging biomarkers of brain health.
