Dr. Grover is co-lead of the text mining group in the Institute for Language, Cognition and Computation, School of Informatics (Edinburgh). Her area of expertise is in building systems which perform linguistic analysis to automatically extract key pieces of information from large collections of textual data, thereby converting text into structured data. In collaboration with researchers in the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, her group has most recently developed a text mining system for radiology reports of CT and MRI brain scans of stroke patients, opening up avenues for epidemiological studies, population health monitoring and audit.
