Judith is a round the clock carer for her 93 year-old mum who suffered a stroke in March 2017, and is now dependent on her for all her needs including end of life care. Prior to giving up work to care for her mother, Judith worked in higher education training secondary school science teachers, so understands the importance of education around science to enable people to fully understand the need for health data research.

Alongside her caring responsibilities, Judith volunteers with Stroke Association and Alzheimer’s Society reviewing research proposals. She also occasionally reviews research for the National Institute of Health Research. She has been involved in campaigns with Cancer Research UK around cancer funding during the pandemic. Judith is keenly aware of the vital need for health research to improve and save lives.
