Nadia Blocker is a biomedical science graduate currently studying for their Master’s in Public Health at Imperial College London with a keen interest in honing data science skills for health equity and advocacy.
As an alumnus of the BIP programme, they completed their placement as a Data Science intern at Bupa. During their placement, they worked in the Care Management and Analytics teams to integrate and analyse large healthcare datasets with open-access PHIN data to generate market share insights and compare performance metrics.
During the programme, their team won the group technical challenge with their machine learning project titled ‘Predicting COVID-19 mortality from diet type’.
A community-oriented and creative thinker, Nadia is now a member of the HDR UK Black Internship Programme Advisory Group and has been working alongside the HDR UK team to design an engaging and thoughtful opening ceremony for this year’s incoming cohort of interns.
