Ruby joined Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) in December 2021 as Science Communications Manager. She works closely with our researchers to tell the story of our health data research, using it to raise the profile of HDR UK and demonstrate their impact.

Ruby has a foundation in health sciences, completing an undergraduate and master’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield. Throughout her degree, Ruby worked with multiple not-for-profit science organisations, including the British Science Association and the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Foundation, focusing on public engagement with science. Ruby moved into the charity sector in 2019, joining Prostate Cancer UK as their Research Communications Manager. She went on to lead their Product Marketing team, retaining a focus on using Prostate Cancer UK’s research to raise the profile of the organisation and inspire both the public and the research community to join their mission.
