Samaira is the Public Involvement and Engagement Manager for the BHF Data Science Centre and leads the implementation of the PPIE Strategy to work in partnership with patients, the public, NHS, researchers and clinicians to enable the safe and ethical use of health data combined with the power of advanced analytic methods for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.

Prior to joining HDR UK, Samaira worked for NIHR as the Public Involvement Lead for the Research Design Service providing support and specialist advice to researchers submitting grant applications to nationally peer reviewed funding streams. Samaira also chaired and supported various public involvement groups and has an interest in inclusive, diverse public involvement.
