Westley Igbo is a seasoned Strategic Communications Expert from Nigeria who is currently the Senior Communications and Engagement Manager for the DARE UK (Data and Analytics Research Environments UK) programme funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Co-delivered by Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK), DARE UK aims to deliver a coordinated and trustworthy national data research infrastructure to support cross-domain research for the public good.

Before assuming his role at DARE UK, Westley led groundbreaking strategic communications campaigns across various projects and programmes in Nigeria and the UK. Notable among these are his contributions to the Our Dorset Enhanced Health and Wellbeing Programme (NHS England), the Regional Programme for Pandemic Prevention (GIZ and ECOWAS), the On Nigeria Programme (MacArthur Foundation), the NULAI Justice Education Fellowship (Heinrich Böll Foundation), and the Total Market Approach to HIV Prevention Project (USAID), among others.

Westley holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and a master’s degree in Communication Science from the University of Vienna. His academic journey has honed his skills and fuelled his passion for driving social impact through strategic communications. He is particularly keen on advancements in Extended Reality and Artificial Intelligence and their capacity to craft immersive experiences for audiences.
