Ayoyemi (Yemi) Macaulay joined HDR UK as an Information and Research Governance Manager in August 2022. She has experience in research support; from working on clinical trials at the Queen Mary University London (Blizard Institute), to providing governance and research management at Hammersmith Medicines research LTD. She also worked on various projects looking into testing infectious and respiratory diseases and development of vaccines and therapeutics through clinical trials at hVIVO.

Yemi has previously managed the research and governance function for the flow of secondary care datasets at Clinical Practice Research Datalink. Leading the non-standard linkage component and establishing the linkage of various datasets to primary care data. She has skills in risk assessment, Information-security development and governance (including working with Research Ethics Communities (REC) and Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) in establishing appropriate legal basis for flow of data from organisations such as Public Health England, NHS England, The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).

Yemi has a background in molecular biology and has worked on several clinical trials, from small early phase 0 to larger late phase trials. She holds a Master’s Degree in Infection and Immunity, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Biosciences.

She is the HDR UK Training Lead for Trust and Transparency – Data Ethics and Governance (Five Safes).
