The Conference is free to attend and there are no registration fees. As such, the bursary is in place to cover travel and/or accommodation costs only.
For the ‘Health Data Research UK Conference 2024: The Grand Challenges in Health Data’, Day 1 (5th March) is more accessible and aimed at patients and the public as well as scientists. Day 2 (6th March) has a higher level of technical content and is aimed at those actively working in the technology ecosystem.
As the UK’s national institute for health data science, we are committed to working with patients and members of the public. This will help us create an accessible and inclusive environment where health data research is shaped and influenced by the public and builds trust and confidence in our work. As such, it is important that we can support patients and members of the public to join our events and actively get involved in discussions and sessions.
Patients and members of the public can apply for a bursary to cover travel and/or accommodation costs that would have otherwise prevented them from attending the event in person. The bursary covers a maximum of up to £250 per person.
How much will the bursary cover?
The bursary covers a maximum of up to £250 per person to attend the Conference on 5 – 6 March 2023. Please note, that those in receipt of a bursary may be subject to personal tax. This is the responsibility of the individual and not HDR UK.
Bursary places are limited to one individual per year and will be awarded at HDR UK’s discretion.
Who is eligible?
All patients and members of the public who are interested in joining the Health Data Research UK Conference 2024 who may otherwise not be attending in person due to travel and/or accommodation costs.
You do not need to have been previously involved in an HDR UK event to apply for the bursary – the bursary is open to all patients and members of the public who are interested in health data research.
