Following the successful recruitment of 8 PhD students for the programme’s inaugural year, Health Data Research UK and the Alan Turing Institute, in partnership with seven leading UK universities, are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the next cohort, beginning in autumn 2021.
This four-year funded doctoral programme will provide in-depth training for graduates interested in bringing their mathematical, statistical and computational skills to health data science.Applications for our secondcohort starting in Autumn 2021 are open now.
Health data science has never been more critical to health and care in the UK. We are looking for students who want to make a differenceand are keen to expand their horizons. This is a collaborative programme, providing opportunity to work together to combine statistics and computation skills within a health setting to overcome existing challenges and look to develop new opportunities.
You will build on your first degree background in quantitative sciences and develop new skills in health and biomedicine, enabling you to undertake research that combines methodological innovation with important practical application.
Professor Peter Diggle, Director of the HDR UK-Turing Wellcome PhD Programme in Health Data Science at Health Data Research UK said “We are delighted to be launching the second year of this programme, and look forward to seeing the impact this PhD programme will have in helping to meet the UK’s need for more highly skilled health data scientists.”
